This photograph was taken in Yreka, California in Northern California in Siskiyou County. The creek is in an unsuspected place that I found walking across a road while my sister was getting her car smogged. In Northern California you find all kinds of beauty in unsuspecting places just by turning a corner or going down the wrong street or path.

MOUNT SHASTA: THE RUNAWAY BRIDE (PHOTOGRAPHS 1-3)

Mount Shasta in Northern California. The clouds around her look like a wedding gown and veil waving in the wind. This photograph was taken outside of Dorris, California in Butte Valley, over green farmland and under summer blue sky and white clouds.

MOUNT SHASTA: SUNSET ON SNOW (PHOTOGRAPHS 1-3)

This photograph of Mount Shasta (located in Northern California) was taken at sunset from Klamath Falls, Oregon. The snow on the mountain reflected very unique shades of gray from the clouds mixed in with a very light shade of gold off the sunset. I really find it hard trying to come up with a description of this color, I do not think it can be duplicated.

MYSTICAL MOUNT SHASTA (PHOTOGRAPHS 1-3)

Mount Shasta in Northern California in August with snow on top. Mount Shasta stands at 14,179 feet above sea level and is the fifth tallest mountain in California. She looks different in every picture that is what makes her the perfect model for a photographer.

MOUNT SHASTA (U.S. ROUTE 97)

Mount Shasta (driving towards her)

This photograph of Mount Shasta was taken on the way to Weed, California from U.S. Route 97. It was a late summer day in August in Northern California and was quite warm but as you can see the mountain was living up to her Karuk name “White Mountain” and had a nice amount of snow on top.

The photograph was taken at the Tulelake National Wildlife Refuge in Siskiyou County in Northern California. The Tulelake National Wildlife Refuge borders both Northern California and Southern Oregon and is a major bird stopover during migration.
